Payments

Paying in crypto changes three things at once: the bank leaves the chain, the transfer settles on a network rather than in a clearing system, and the exchange rate keeps moving between deposit and withdrawal.

The section works through the coins in turn — Bitcoin and Ethereum, Tether and USDC, Litecoin, Ripple, Cardano, Solana, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Tron — with the conventional routes beside them: debit cards, bank and instant transfers, wallets and vouchers, since most operators run both.

A stablecoin and a floating coin are different instruments: one holds its value while a withdrawal is pending, the other does not.
